De Jong takes a classic tale and twists it into something original and heartbreaking. Gripping you until the very end, and leaving you sad when it ends (always the sign of a good book!). Not only is the storyline harrowing, but also compels you to continue reading, De Jong's writing style is rich and beautiful.
